The Windmill at Emerald Bank is your Number 1 destination for coffee, tea, breakfast, lunch & morning & afternoon teas.
Set amongst the picturesque backdrop of the gardens & lake of Riverside Gardens Nursery, The Windmill offers various options for quick refreshment stops or lingering lunches.

Devonshire & High Teas are our specialty with freshly baked scones every day & brews made with leaf tea. Our coffee is a specially selected roast suited to the coffee connoisseurs as well as those who are just looking to enjoy a caffeine hit.

Our menu is traditional & inspired by fresh food & good-old-fashioned flavours & tastes. For those with a sweet tooth, we have a large selection of ice-cream & our gift range includes hand-chosen items from the Ministry of Chocolate.

Directly under the windmill itself is a private dining room. In the past, this area was a chocolate shop but has been transformed into an elegant formal dining room suitable for groups from 6 people up to 10. The dining room is beautifully furnished with antiques and our fine china & silverware.

The cafe area indoors is less formal but still maintains an olde-world feel with classic decor including drapes, flower arrangements & cloth-covered tables.

Outdoors there are 3 separate, different & inviting dining areas. The north terrace is casual & a preferred spot for families & travellers; especially those with pets. This area adjoins a lawn area & captures the afternoon shade overlooking some of the gardens.

The west terrace overlooks the lake, large lawn area, mini golf course & offers great views of the depth & breadth of the nursery gardens. This area is quiet & unspoilt & you could really be anywhere in the world!

Upstairs, surrounding the windmill is the balcony area that has limited seating but huge novelty factor! Sitting under the spinning blades of the windmill you can watch planes taking off & landing at the airport across the road or watch the world at Emerald Bank go by… vintage cars pulling in, cheering the champion mini-golf players or enjoying the highest spot at Emerald Bank & its vantage point of glorious natural landscapes.

We look forward to you being our guest at The Windmill.

The first thing you notice as you enter the Emerald Bank complex is the Dutch Windmill which has been part of the Shepparton landscape for many years – you may remember it as being part of the former International Village.

But it’s not just the exterior of the iconic windmill that appeals to locals and tourists, it is what we have inside!
